Reunion 2012--Dayton, Ohio

Reunion 2012

July 26-29

Dayton, Ohio

The activity dates are July 27 and 28th, with July 26th as a travel/arrival day.  We will have an ad hoc social gathering either in our meeting room or in the annex room adjacent to my reserved room which will be announced at a later date.

This year, there will be a $25 dollar fee to help defray the reunion costs, payable via our Pay Pal link or a check to Richard Dean at the time of registration.

Our hotel is again with the Marriott and looks to be a wonderful facility.  Here is the link for the Dayton Ohio Marriott.
Click on the link [  http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/dayoh?groupCode=vofvofa&app=resvlink&fromDate=7/26/12&toDate=7/29/12  ] and you will be directed to the Hotel's home page with the negotiated rate code already entered in the appropriate field and can quickly make your room reservation. In the event this link fails to work, merely copy the entire link and paste it into your web browser line and hit enter.  If that fails, please email Steve Vermillion at steve@stevevermillion.com

Room rates are $99.00 per night which includes breakfast.

The first day will be arrival and check in--Thursday.

The second day, breakfast at the hotel [included in your room rate] and then off to Wright Patterson AFB, the USAF Museum.  This is probably the largest and most complete aviation in the world outside of the Smithsonian in Washington DC.  This link http://www.nmusafvirtualtour.com/full/tour-std.html will take you to a virtual tour of the entire museum.

We will look for restaurant options for Friday evening and then post a choice or two.  We can go as a group or you can certainly eat on your own.

Saturday will be our meeting with guest speakers, presenters and our auction.  Again, this year, we will have a wide variety of aircraft components, et al from the Vietnam Era that will be available for purchase.

There are numerous activities in the local area geared for women if they care not to go to the museum and 'sniff' and 'drool' on aircraft.

Pull out your birth certificate-check your age of birth and you'll find that you are no-longer a spring chicken.  Now is the time to contact all of your Dustoff buds, grab them by the stack and swivel and drag them to this reunion.  There is a uniqueness among the people that fly and supported Dustoff/Medevac missions.  Once you attend a reunion, you will feel the brotherhood once again of your friends and fellow airmen as we talk about daring deeds that will never again be performed in the fashion that we did nor will the number of lives saved through these deeds ever be realized again.
